Dr. Fagbeminiyi Fasina joined CFIC as a consultant in population and development issues in 2019. His professional experience span over ten years, majorly in Nigeria and South Africa, where he coordinates fieldwork planning implementation of most CFIC field projects. Specifically, this involves training fieldwork personnel, data collection (both quantitative and qualitative), and data quality assurance. He is an expert in statistical data analysis using varied statistical software.
He is a faculty member at Covenant University where he teaches undergraduate and post-graduate level courses in statistics for business and social sciences and social and behavioral health. Social statistics, labor force and theoretical considerations, demographic estimation techniques and projections, and data collection and analysis.
His research interests are reproductive health, HIV/AIDS, demography of aging, project monitoring and evaluation, census methodology, data analysis, demographic techniques, and statistics. He obtained a Ph.D. and MPhil in Demography and Social Statistics from Covenant University, Nigeria; MDS and BSc in Demography and Social Statistics from Obafemi Awolowo University, Nigeria. His professional certificates include Essential Epidemiologic Tools for Public Health Practice, The Art and Science of Teaching Online, and a Diploma in Data Processing.
